We are thrilled to announce to all of our Dutch fans that we'll be on 2 episodes of Nick & Simon's TV series, "The Dream". - The 1st episode is Tonight, (Holland time), Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 20:30 (8:30p.m.) (UTC +1) on NPO3. - The 2nd episode is next week, Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the same time and channel. Nick and Simon were such nice guys and we really had a great time filming this together. We talk, laugh, have dinner together and most importantly, play music together! In 2014 vroeg Venice me om bij het 15-jarig jubileum in Holland aanwezig te zijn bij een van hun goedbezochte theateroptredens om ze, net als in 1998, op het podium van het Arnhemse Luxor (Live) aan te kondigen. Dat wilde ik wel. Graag zelfs. Want sinds hun komst naar ons land, in 1998, is er een stevige band tussen de Lennons en mij gegroeid: ik zag ze tussen 1998 en nu gemiddeld wel 1 keer per jaar: Van Meppel to Nijmegen en van Den Haag tot Leeuwarden.
Het contact tussen band en mij ontstond toen ik de groep in maart 1998 uitnodigde voor mijn televisieprogramma 2 Meter Sessies, in mijn toenmalig eigen huis in Harderwijk. De opnames bleken goud, de band brak in één keer door via 2 Meter Sessies en won in de loop der jaren de harten van tienduizenden Nederlanders.
Ik kom nog wekelijks Venice-fans tegen die me bedanken voor het feit dat we deze bijzondere groep zangers een kans gaven. En vanaf het allereerste moment dat de platenspeler weer in raakte, kwamen er vragen over een vinylversie van deze eerste opname uit 1998. En hier is-ie dan! Veel luisterplezier!
Note: This "Live at 2 meter sessies 1998" vinyl is currently only being released in Holland. However, we will eventually have it available in the states and can ship it worldwide.
